Yahoo Launches New Version Yahoo Messenger App for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad With Support for Video Calling and Streaming Video

Users of the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch have reason to celebrate as Yahoo introduces its latest Yahoo Messenger App, Version 2.0, which has been updated and now supports video calling as well. So, users can make video calls and stream live video  one-to-one (available for iPhone 3GS/4 users running iOS 4.1); make free voice calls to Yahoo Messenger friends; and make low cost calls to mobile and Landline numbers (available to premium users in select countries).

The updated application allows you to add your Windows Live Messenger contacts to your friends list and enjoy the privilege of interacting with all your friends at one place. There are also additional features like multitasking, instant notifications and free SMS service. The multitasking feature allows you to run other applications while the messenger is active in the background. You can make a connection via the mobile application to a PC or to another mobile. You get a notification for every message received even when the application is not open. The free SMS messages that can be sent via this application are yet another happy add-on (however, recipients of SMS may be charged by their carriers).

To enjoy this app, download it for free from the online App Store. You will need the iOS 3.0 or later OS versions to support this app. At 17.5 MB, this application is not going to take too much of your device memory. It is also available in Chinese, French, German Italian, Romanian, Spanish and Vietnamese, covering a wider spectrum of users.
